St Kevins Camogie 2012 Yearly Review
This year has been both successful and unsuccessful in ways for St. Kevin’s Camogie Club. In every age group except U12 we have reached a final which is a great achievement for the club with the under 13’s showing that their hard work has paid off on the field and in the club being the only age group to bring home a title for the club.
The under 13’s this year really have proven themselves showing great determination and skill in their final out doing their opponents Knockbridge. This was a tough game but they fought till the end proving to be the better team on the day. Full time score was St Kevin’s 3-3 to St Brides 1-1 with the scorers for St Kevin’s being
Jade Caffery 2 points
Emily Gaughran 1 goal
Katie Matthews 1 goal
Oonagh & Caoimhe Matthews combining with 1 goal and 1 point
U 14 played a tough final in Stabannon against Clontibret losing by 2 points with Aoife Gregory and Aine Kelly playing great in mid field, Ciara Matthews and Courtney Dowling covering backs.
St Kevin’s represented Co Louth for the 3rd year in Feile which was held in Cabra with our host club Naomh Fionnbarra and we won 2 out of 3 games just missing out on a semi final. Grainne Murray, Hanna Crehan, Ashling Matthews, Nora Maguire, Sinead Cosgrove and Rosa Durrigan playing their best.
St Kevin’s girls took part in a Leinster blitz and successfully took home a shield.
U15 and U16 teams put up a great performance in their finals but just missed out on a title.
The Senior team struggled with numbers but fought hard and got to the League and Championship finals but it just wasn’t meant to be.

2009 Review
2009 was another great year for St. Kevin’s Camogie outfits as they were well prepared for all their encounters and gave magnificent team displays to carry home several trophies.
The girls from Philipstown were in brilliant form for the county under 16 league when they overcame St. Anne’s to win the Bernadette McCabe Cup the one which always holds importance in Philipstown. This was a great team victory and all the players played a big part in bringing the u-16 title back to Philipstown.
St. Kevin’s created a piece of history last year for themselves when they claimed their first ever senior Camogie league and this year they took the C0. Board shield.
Earlier this year the comoige team where represented at the Laois/Offaly Feile 2009 competition. A great weekend of games was had by all who attended. This stood to the under 12 and under 14 teams who both reached Co. Board finals with the u12 taken home the honours.
